The coastal village of Aryapalli in Ganjam district is facing an existential threat as the sea continues to advance aggressively. Within just a few days, high tides have devoured roads and temples, leaving the village only 50 meters away from the shoreline. Despite promises made by the administration since 2018, no permanent solution like a stone embankment or guard wall has been fully implemented.
