This historic verdict overturns the 2021 acquittal by the Goa Sessions Court. The case dates back to 2013, when Tejpal was accused of sexually assaulting a junior colleague inside a luxury hotel elevator in Goa. Following an appeal by the Goa government, the High Court set aside the lower court’s decision and found him guilty. The court is expected to announce the quantum of punishment soon.
