Elephant Herd From Andhra Enters Rayagada: Panic Grips Gunupur Locals | Argus News Panic gripped the border region of Rayagada district as a herd of four wild elephants crossed over from Andhra Pradesh into Odisha. Believed to have strayed in search of food from the Manyam-Parvathipuram district via Palwalasa, the elephants were spotted roaming around Baridi in the Jagannathpur panchayat under Gunupur block for the past three days. Local forest officials have been dispatched to monitor the herd's movements and alert nearby residents. Fearing elephant attacks, local farmers are terrified to visit their agricultural fields in the early morning hours.
