Following heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas, five gates of the Hadagarh Dam have been opened, discharging 2,200 cusecs of water. At Rajghat, the river is flowing near the danger mark, posing a threat to low-lying areas. Residents who were busy repairing their houses after the previous flood are now gripped by fear again. Farmers in Bhadrak and Tihidi blocks are facing massive losses as their livelihoods remain at stake due to the recurring floods.
